4. Technical Parameters

The production line manufactures cold-formed C profiles with a height of 140 mm and in various wall thicknesses (hereinafter referred to as C140). For increased rigidity and load-bearing capacity, the web of the profile is reinforced with longitudinal stiffeners. During production, holes and cutouts of various sizes are made in the profiles to facilitate assembly of structural elements and to ensure precise fitting.

t: sheet thickness [mm]
H: web height [mm]
B: flange width [mm]
L: lip length [mm]

Table 2: Cross-sectional properties

g: self-weight [kg/m]
Ag: total cross-sectional area [mm²]
Aeff: effective cross-sectional area [mm²]
Igy: total cross-sectional moment of inertia about the major axis [mm⁴]
Igz: total cross-sectional moment of inertia about the minor axis [mm⁴]
Iy.eff: effective cross-sectional moment of inertia about the major axis [mm⁴]
Wy.eff: elastic section modulus of the effective cross-section about the major axis [mm³]
Wz.eff: elastic section modulus of the effective cross-section about the minor axis [mm³]

Table 3: Section load-bearing values

Nc,Rd: compressive resistance of the cross-section [kN]
Nt,Rd: tensile resistance of the cross-section [kN]
Meff.y: design bending moment (about the major axis, both flanges supported) [kNm]
Meff.z: design bending moment (about the minor axis, both flanges supported) [kNm]
VRd,st: design shear force for a supported cross-section [kN]

The load-bearing values shown in Table 3 refer to a supported, idealized cross-section, that is, not to a structural element (such as a beam or column); therefore, support conditions and geometric data are not taken into account.
